Don’t kiss the badge, says Roy

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been cautioned for spit-pen a groveling apology to his victim. The Manchester United ace finally said sorry when he attended a police station in central London. Rooney spat on Lee Simmon’s back as he left a restaurant in the capital with wife Coleen. In a gesture to support social cause, the Olympic medalist Vijender launched two social campaigns “Tree Plantation” and Save Girl Child” have on Thursday on the occasion of his birthday. Vijender who celebrated his 22nd birthday visited the local temple of Goddess Durga and offered prayers. “I felt really good. I got a lot of respect from people here. I have come for blessings of the Goddess. I hope the Goddess blesses me to perform well,” said Vijender, “I have planted a tree on my birthday. I felt really good. Everyone must plant a tree. We all must also start a mission against female foeticide as well. Planting a tree will make the environment green and reduce global environment green and reduce global warming,” said Vijender.

Greek footballer jumps off cliff


A Greek footballer committed suicide by jumping off a clip after being on Wednesday, the Athens News Agency reported. Police said 25-year old midfielder Yiannis Kosinatis, who had psychological problems recently, was found dead in the mountainous Profits I1ias Koskinou area and had left a suicide note explaining his actions. The news of Koskiniatis’ death was not made known to Diagoras players until after their 3-2 Greek Cup defeat to Greek first division champions Olympiakos. A full investigation was being carried out by local police; ANA said, Local press reports said Pavlos Dermitzakis, coach of second division side Diagoras, had told him to report back to the hotel.
